3D Ultrasound Research Tool

Traditional Ultrasound is a concept that acquires and reconstructs echo from body structures, from a dot to a line and from series of lines into a 2D image.

Commercial available 3D tools incorporate a rotating head that capture slices of 2D images and reconstruct these into a 3D image. Our Ultrasound machine uses a conventional 2D probe together with a mechanical arm that take planar slices of 2D images and reconstruct these into 3D.

Coupled with our m-contour mapping software, we can map out ultrasound images with surface filling, and register with images from other modalities to enhance the overall visualisation experience. These tools working together are extremely useful for research purposes.
